Yayasan Warisan Johor: Tarian Zapin

There are a number of zapin dance types performed in this segment , among others are Zapin Tenglu, Zapin Kores, Zapin Tanjung Labuh, Zapin Sri Bunian and Zapin Putar Alam, some of many many types of zapin dances in Malaysia. These type of zapin dance is popular in the state of Johor, each one is differentiate by its names, moves and province/district of origin .

The dancers in this performance are those professional zapin dancers from Johor’s Heritage Foundation (Yayasan Warisan Johor), needless to say one of the best professional folk dancers group in the country and Asean region!

Zapin or zafin was introduced to Malay archipelagos hundred of years ago by Arab traders who came here to trade and at the same time expand the teachings of Islam. After sometimes, the dance revolved to inculcate the values and tradition of the local Malay people until it wholly become unique in its own way but still maintaining some important features of zapin dance like the musical instruments used; gambus / oud, traditional drums etc., the Middle East melody in its song and the identical 8-counting-basic-movements in its dance!

Apart from the Malaysia’s state where the zapin is danced by its people like Johor, Kedah, Terengganu, Kelantan, Sarawak and Sabah, zapin is also danced by the people in the neighboring country like Singapore, Indonesia and Brunei.

Siti Nurhaliza is a Malaysian singer, songwriter, record producer, and television presenter. Since her debut, she has won a number of international singing competitions. To date, she has garnered more than 200 local awards as well as international awards.

n 1998, she was chosen amongst few Malaysian artists to perform during the closing ceremony of 1998 Commonwealth Games in front of Queen Elizabeth II and her consort, Prince Philip among other dignitaries and officials from 70 countries including those from the Commonwealth of Nations. In 2005, she became the first Southeast Asian singer, and third Asian singer to perform a solo concert at the Royal Albert Hall while being backed by the London Symphony Orchestra. In 2005 also, she was listed second by MTV Asia in Asia’s Best Musical Artiste and Channel V’s Biggest Asian Artiste. In 2008, she was named as one of Asia’s Idol by Asia News Network. Her success in the Asian region has gained her honorific titles including “Voice of Asia” and “Asia’s Celine Dion”.

Pria band terbentuk pada tanggal 29 september 2009 kami menggunakan nama pria karna pria adalah orang yang bertanggung jawab dalam semua hal dan lebih agar cepat dingat oleh masyarakat luas. dulu posisi Pria terdiri dari 4 orang yang diantaranya tama,bui,hendi,igo . dan ketika pada tanggal 18 february 2010 Pria bertambah personil menjadi 5 orang yang dimana nasa yang kebetulan sebagai mantan gitaris TAHTA masuk dan musik kami pun mengalami banyak perubahan ketika nasa sebagai X TAHTA masuk ke dalam khehidupan kami . yang menjadi lebih produktif dalam bermusik jenis aliran yang kami tuangkan adalah POP ALTERNATIVE

FAIZAL TAHIR 

 

 

Faizal Tahir is a Malaysian Singer, who is the current official Malaysian DC Brand Ambassador. He provoked the industry by ripping off his shirt during one of the live-telecast resulting being sternly warned by the authority and banned from performing in front of live audiences.

At the beginning of the grand finale show, Marion Caunter and Awal Ashaari informed Faizal that he was eliminated, but he was given another chance to perform for the grand prize. His first original single, Mahakarya Cinta, a song composed by Audi Mok, made its debut in the Grand Finale of One in a Million. He finished as runner-up to Suki Low. Faizal released a single, Kasih Tercipta, as part of the soundtrack for the local film Waris Jari Hantu. He was also named as the sole Malaysian spokesperson for DC Superheroes clothing, as he was famously noted for wearing T-shirts with the Superman logo throughout One in a Million. He also recorded Gemuruh, the theme song for My Starz LG.

Aku.Muzik.Kamu[edit]

Faizal’s first album, Aku.Muzik.Kamu, was released on 22 November 2007, featuring 13 tracks mostly written by himself alongside Audi Mok, Kuncidemak, Omar K, Aubrey Suwito, Tessh RS, and Ahmad Izham Omar, including the orchestral version of Mahakarya Cinta, and the first original single from the album, Batu & Golek (which is a literal translation of Rock n’ Roll).

Personal life[edit]

Faizal Tahir is the second child of seven. Faizal is a former member of nasyid group, Mirwana. He is a singer and a composer. He built a mini studio named Home Suite Studio, located at Ukay Perdana, Ampang.

One of his brothers, Anas Tahir, is a member of nasyid group, Firdaus, after leaving another nasyid group, Far East.
