IT was exactly 2 years ago, the world music industry was shocked to learn the death of Amy Winehouse. We marked the second anniversary on her death today, a singer / songwriter who has so much potential and blended genres of jazz, reggae, soul, blues and R&B into unforgettable compositions.

Her 2006 “Back to Black” album led her to six nominations in the Grammy Awards and winning five of them, thus making her the first British female singer to win five Grammys. This record also made her a tie for the most wins by a female singer in a single night. The following year in 2007, Amy went on to win the Best British Female Singer at the Brits Awards.

Amy is undoubtedly one of the more influential singer in the fashion industry with her bee hive hairdo and with many followers; and VH1 has named her the 26th 100 Greatest Women in Music in 2012. She will always be remembered.
