Judika Sihotang, atau yang bernama lengkap Judika Nalon Abadi Sihotang, lahir di Sidikalang, Sumatera Utara, 31 Agustus 1978. Judikaadalah penyanyi yang populer sebagai peraih runner-up Indonesian Idol 2. Dalam kehidupan pribadinya, Judika menjalin hubungan dengan Runner up I Puteri Indonesia 2007, Duma Riris Silalahi.

Meski termasuk pemain baru pada dunia seni peran, namun Judika telah membuktikan ia serius menekuni bidang ini. Terbukti di ajang Indonesian Movie Awards 2009, ia memperoleh penghargaan pada kategori Pemeran Pendatang Baru Pria Terbaik lewat film SI JAGO MERAH.

ANAK PANAH terbentuk di Jakarta pada 1 November 2013. Baru memang, tapi bukan berarti kami anak baru di belantika musik Indonesia. ANAK PANAH sendiri terdiri dari tiga personil, Morai pada vocal, Kens pada gitar, dan Lesar pada drum. Dua personil ANAK PANAH yaitu Kens dan Lesar bukanlah orang baru di Industri musik Indonesia. Kens dulunya adalah gitaris di Tarzanboyz dan Pinnochio. Lesar pernah bergabung di T4i, Presiden, dan Heika. Sedangkan Morai memang belum secara harfiah terjun langsung ke Industri musik Indonesia, namun namanya sudah tidak asing lagi di dunia Indie. Karena sebelum dia bergabung dengan ANAK PANAH dia menjadi vocalis sementara di Heika bersama Lesar dan Kens (ketika itu Kens masih additional player). Seiring berjalannya waktu Morai, Lesar, dan Kens semakin mendapat kecocokan baik itu dari visi maupun misi sehingga akhirnya mereka bertiga membentuk ANAK PANAH.
ANAK PANAH sebenarnya tidak memiliki arti khusus. ANAK PANAH yang kami maksudkan adalah anak panah dalam artian sebenarnya. A little over 100 years ago, Broadway theater was just getting started in New York City. In its early days you could catch a musical such as “Black Crook” for $2 a seat. Although it was criticized heavily back then, the Broadway style of theater kept gaining popularity amongst the middle class. Nowadays it is not surprising to find a Broadway dancing and theater school in most big cities around the world. Musical theater enthusiasts attend a range of classes at these school to learn about what makes Broadway theater so special or in the hopes of becoming the next Broadway star.
Broadway dance can be defined as the incorporation of ballet, jazz and modern dance styles with theater and singing. At its beginnings, people were intrigued with Broadway theater because it was the first time dance was an integral component of a play’s plot. Because theater critics did not approve of Broadway as a serious type of theater in its first few decades, its creators were known as “gypsies” until successful productions proved otherwise. Some of the earliest recognized Broadway dance choreographers include George Balanchine, Robert Alton and Gower Champion.
Broadway dance is different from other styles because the fusion of ballet, jazz and modern allows for unconventional movements and unusual use of body parts. The use of theater props such as canes, top hats and gloves is also very popular in Broadway productions, allowing once again a variety of movements previously unexplored in theater or dance productions. Finally, what makes Broadway dance contrast with other dance styles is that is also blends in acting and singing, meaning that Broadway dancers also need to be actors and singers.

The dance is called Zapin Tenglu, one of the many types of zapin dances in Malaysia.
This type of zapin dance is originated from the state of Johor and among the most popular Malay folk dance in Malaysia.
The dancers in this performance are those professional zapin dancers from Johor’s Heritage Foundation funded by the State of Johor Government (Yayasan Warisan Johor), needless to say one of the best professional folk dancers group in the country and the Asean region!
Zapin or zafin was introduced to Malay archipelagos hundred of years ago by Arab traders who came here to trade and at the same time expand the teachings of Islam. After sometimes, the dance revolved to inculcate the values and tradition of the local Malay people until it wholly become unique in its own local way but still maintaining some important features of original Arabic zapin dance like the musical instruments used (gambus / oud, traditional drums etc.), the Middle East melody in its song and the identical 8-counting-basic-movements in its dance steps!
Apart from the Malaysia’s state where the zapin is danced by its people like Johor, Kedah, Terengganu, Kelantan, Sarawak and Sabah, zapin is also danced by the people in its neighboring country like Singapore, Indonesia and Brunei.

A fire eater is an entertainer, often a street artist or part of a sideshow. The performer places flaming objects into their mouth and extinguishes them by cutting off oxygen. They also practice controlling and transferring the flame.
Fire eating was a common part of Hindu, Sadhu, and Fakir performances to show spiritual attainment. It became a part of the standard sideshow acts in the late 1880s and is often seen as one of the entry-level skills for sideshow performers, although skilled fire performers, such as those who can utilise the difficult and dangerous vapour transfers and produce large breaths of fire are regarded as equals in the circus community for their skill and devotion to their art. Such performers include record holder Preacher Muad’dib, Lucifre, Heavy Metal Pete, Murrigan Mystic Tom Black and Chris Riley all of whom are known as exceptionally skilled performers within the circus and sideshow industry.
Other than sound fire safety precautions and some practical advice regarding the laws of physics (i.e. “hot air rises”), there are few secrets to eating fire. Torches do not burn with “cold flames” nor is there any special substance in the performer’s mouth other than saliva. According to Daniel Mannix’s 1951 sideshow memoir Step right up!, the real “secret” to fire eating is enduring pain; he mentions that tolerating constant blisters on your tongue, lips and throat is also necessary. Many other fire eaters dismiss this, claiming that a skilled fire eater should not burn themselves, but since the art of fire eating is kept quite secret it is hard to ascertain exactly how it is done. Fire eating and fire breathing (and all variants) is a skill usually passed on for a skilled master to an appropriate student and almost all teachings include instructions on first aid, fire safety, chemistry and other appropriate skills.

Aerial Crew has appeared in nationally televised commercials for Seti sim cards and Flexi sim cards. They have also appeared on the International Network Fashion TV during there coverage of Bali Fashion Week 2008.
Aerial Crew have been resident dancers at nightclubs Mbargo, Kama Sutra Bali and Kama Sutra Jakarta and Fuel (now Hookt).
Currently, Aerial Crew are resident dancers at Kuta’s newest hotspot, Ocean Beach Club, where they have begun working with American choreographer BlackGold from San Francisco, California. Together they are expanding the boundaries of what breakdancing is by creating conceptual dance pieces that mix the various styles of Hiphop dance along with theatrical elements and a diverse selection of great music.

Joanne de Rozario is a TV Presenter & Producer based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. She is a self-confessed “news junkie” and an avid F1 fan.
Joanne has had over a decade of experience in front of and behind the camera, both in Malaysia and around the region. She currently hosts “The Breakfast Show” for ntv7 and is a presenter on “Li”, a regional HD lifestyle channel.

Tone up that body and get ready to twirl your way to fame. So You Think You Can Dance? is back for its second season and is looking to make dance stars out of Malaysians. DENNIS CHUA writes
THE country’s popular dance reality show will be back in May, promising more excitement as dance enthusiasts unravel their talent on the floor.
So You Think You Can Dance? saw its first winner last year in 8TV’s B-Boy Muhamad Haslam Abdul Rahman (or Alam) from Muar.
Auditions for Season Two were held on Sunday in Kota Kinabalu’s Imperial Hotel. On March 18, hopefuls should head to Panggung Bandaraya in Jalan Raja, Kuala Lumpur for the next session of auditions from 10am to 5pm, and Malaysians aged 18 to 30 are welcome to try their luck at getting selected.
8TV’s business development general manager Lam Swee Kim (the producer) said the show’s first season had succeeded in getting more Malaysians interested in dance and also educated Malaysians on what it takes to be a successful dancer.
“So You Think You Can Dance? has been one of our popular shows.
“Hopefully, we will discover world class dancers amongst Malaysians, including those from Sabah and Sarawak, where we are conducting auditions for the first time,” Lam said.
She said the television station was confident that the second season of So You Think You Can Dance? would enjoy similar success.
Alam, she said, was currently shooting a drama series about his journey as a dancer. The series is expected to be screened on 8TV in July or August.
“Alam amazed us with his dancing skills and touched our hearts with his struggles to make it as a successful dancer.
“I am sure there are many more Malaysians who are extremely talented in dance and need a platform to demonstrate their talents and have a shot at stardom,” she said.
Lam said 100 shortlisted participants would undergo three to four days’ training at a “dance boot camp” where they would learn various dances such as hip-hop, ballroom, traditional and modern contemporary. Only those who master each dance will move on to the next round.
“Live performances will kick off after the Top 20 dancers, (male and female in equal numbers) are selected. One male and one female gets eliminated every week until the 16th and final episode,” she said.
As in the first season, the winner will receive RM50,000.
The performances will take place at Ruums in Jalan Sultan Ismail, Kuala Lumpur.
Lam said the first season saw viewership of 300,000 to 500,000 a week and this was expected to rise by 20 per cent this year.
Dance instructors Ramli Ibrahim, Pat Ibrahim and Judimar Hernandez return as the show’s distinguished judges.
However, first season’s host Juliana Ibrahim is not returning, and her replacement is popular television personality Aishah Sinclair, formerly of 8TV Quickie.
Among the choreographers in the second season are Bilqis Hijjas and first season finalist Suhaili Ahmad Kamil. Bilqis said she decided to support the reality show as it was a great avenue to unearth new talents in Malaysian dance.
Suhaili, who is a part-time dance instructor with the National Arts, Culture and Heritage Academy or Aswara, said: “This year I hope to give back to a show which helped me realise my dreams.”
Judimar advises contestants to “be themselves, and to dance from the heart and not imitate others.”
Tranz, the jewellery brand of Poh Kong, is once again the official partner for the show.

I have been dancing since I was four years old. That’s what happens when your mother owns a dance school. Being a ballet teacher, my mother had dreams for me to become a prima ballerina. As such, I was initially trained in classical ballet but I have since chosen to major in contemporary dance instead.
My parents chose to send me to Australia to pursue dance studies because its only an 8 hour flight from Malaysia. After careful surveying, I enrolled in the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School (VCASS) as it offered a part dance and part academic education. I was the first Malaysian international student ever enrolled at VCASS. Upon graduation, I then enrolled in the Bachelor of Dance at the Victorian College of the Arts.
Initially it was hard to leave my family to study in Australia. I had quite a big culture shock when I first got here but it has since subsided. It is a challenge to attend a university where one is not spoon fed. At the VCA, no one forces you to do anything. This has taught me to set goals and make things happen. However, that is not to say that dance studies at the VCA are easy. It is actually quite full on and requires a lot of dedication.

Besides that, my studies here at the VCA have given me the opportunity to be more creative as we are encouraged to use the craziest things as inspiration for our dancing. I have also learnt to be more articulate in expressing my opinions and giving critiques. I would say that the VCA pushes you do the things you want to do and gives you the confidence to do it. In addition, Melbourne is a very encouraging place for young, independent artists.
In my free time, I do some commercial dancing for KAMI Performing Arts to earn some extra money. I am also involved with the Chunky Move Dance Company, the Bangarra Dance Company and the Odyssey Dance Company. As a dancer, it is important to be toned, so I do Pilates whenever I can to strengthen my back.
In terms of future plans, one of my goals is to get a position in the dance department of the Malaysian government and help establish a formal dance education for local dance students. There is little or no dance education available in Malaysia and even less of a dance scene. I would like to create a performing arts school in Malaysia and help Malaysians develop a higher appreciation for dance.
My advice for prospective dance students is if you really know this is what you want to do with your life then just go for it and have no regrets. In life, every little thing counts so make it worthwhile.
